Thorsten Terweiden

Thorsten Terweiden is a senior trade and investment promotion professional with over 20 years of experience across Europe, Asia and Australia, specialising in FinTech and digital ecosystems. As European FinTech Lead and Deputy Head of FinTech at Invest Hong Kong, he supported major UK scale-ups including Revolut, Wise, Checkout.com and Ebury in their expansion to Asia and played a key role in promoting Hong Kong FinTech Week across Europe. Most recently, he led European investment attraction for the State of Victoria, Australia, delivering high-value projects into Melbourne across priority sectors. Previously, as Head of the International Office for Economic Development in the City of Magdeburg, he was part of the core team that secured Intel’s landmark semiconductor investment – the largest in post-war German history. Earlier in his career, he led Switzerland’s export and investment promotion activities at the Swiss Business Hub UK. Thorsten is based in Berlin and advises governments and companies on international expansion and ecosystem building.
