Santiago Canalejo

Santiago is a founding team member of TheVentureCity, an international VC where he sits on the Investment Committee since its inception and serves as a Board Member across the firm's portfolio companies. As a key executive, he oversees the operational and financial aspects of the firm, driving operational excellence, process optimization, and scalable growth. He currently serves as Vice President and Board Member of SpainCap, the Spanish association representing the Venture Capital and Private Equity industry. He has co-founded two companies alongside family and friends, and has been personally investing in tech startups since joining the firm in 2017. Prior to TheVentureCity, Santiago spent 12 years in senior management and business development roles at leading food industry companies across Europe and the Americas, leading launch, growth, and restructuring phases at firms such as Berlys and Pagnifique. He holds an MBA from IESE Business School and spent 7 years in strategic consulting at top-tier firms including Booz Allen & Hamilton, focused on the Communications, Media & Technology sector across Europe, the Americas, and Africa. He began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen.
