Paco Salcedo has been President of Microsoft Spain since January 2025, where he leads a team of professionals committed to helping Spanish companies and public entities with their digital transformation strategies and driving Spain's transition to an AI Economy based on responsible and sustainable innovation. With over 25 years of experience in the ICT industry, Salcedo brings to Microsoft Spain extensive global expertise in digital service innovation, disruptive business models, and growth strategies, combined with a strong background in technical, commercial, financial, business leadership, and marketing skills. In 2025, he was recognized as Engineer of the Year by the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT), an award that underscores his contribution to Spain's technological advancement. Before joining the Spanish subsidiary, Paco Salcedo served as General Manager of Microsoft's Enterprise division for CEMA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa). Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Etisalat Digital (a division of the Emirati telecommunications operator Etisalat), where he led an organization focused on driving the digital transformation of businesses and public administrations in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. In Spain, Paco held various management positions at Telefónica for 15 years, including Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Telefónica Soluciones, working with clients in Spain, Latin America, and Europe. Paco Salcedo holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and an Executive MBA from INSEAD/Euroforum, as well as a Master's degree in Space Communication Systems from the École Nationale de Télécommunication in Paris. Throughout his career, he has served on the executive boards of several startups, including the cybersecurity company Help AG, where he was CEO, and the systems integrator Smart World.
