Héctor Ibañez

Héctor Laiz Ibáñez is the Country Director for Spain at LSEC Leaders in Security, a Belgian non-profit association that supports the European Commission by coordinating cybersecurity projects. These initiatives focus on training SMEs, deploying pentesting in essential entities, facilitating CRA/NIS2 compliance, and harmonizing incident reporting, among others. His mission is to align the Spanish industrial ecosystem with European priorities, connecting technical innovation, financing, and operational excellence. Previously, he was elected vice president of the NCC Network and manager of the European project portfolio at INCIBE. He combines his role in industry with his academic work as a professor at the University of León and doctoral researcher in cybersecurity economics, consolidating a profile that serves as a bridge between technical compliance and business strategy.
