Gonzalo joined the Financial Regulatory & Capital Markets practice as a partner in January 2026. He previously developed his professional career as a financial regulatory lawyer at Bolsas y Mercados Españoles for nine years (the entity responsible for managing Spain’s securities markets and post-trade infrastructures). He later led the process of obtaining regulatory authorization for a new and pioneering Spanish stock exchange in Spain, Portfolio Stock Exchange, where he served for three years as Legal and Compliance Director and Data Protection Officer. Prior to joining Crowe, Gonzalo led the financial regulatory practice for more than two years at the international law firm ONTIER. Gonzalo has extensive experience advising financial institutions and investment funds on financial regulatory matters, supporting them in a wide range of regulatory issues and procedures, as well as in their relationship with supervisory authorities. He also has solid experience advising companies on access to capital markets and on obtaining financing through new mechanisms such as the issuance of tokenized financial instruments. Alongside his professional activity, he is also involved in academic teaching, collaborating as a lecturer at institutions such as IE Business School, ISDE Law Business School, Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid, and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
