As founder and CEO of VESS Venture Studio, he leads from Seville a venture-building model focused on the development of technology startups based on solutions already validated in Asia. From this position, he drives the Andalusian entrepreneurial ecosystem by connecting it with global trends, strategic sponsors and real business opportunities. His international experience has been consolidated over more than 17 years in the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets, where he has led companies specialised in e-commerce, business intelligence and brand development. He was Managing Director at Eqidata, where he designed digital marketing and e-commerce platforms for global brands, as well as at DNA Brands, helping to expand more than 50 international and Chinese brands, such as LILY, Esprit, Paquetá, Ecoalf, Scalpers or Marie Claire, through branding and licensing strategies. He began his career by participating in the growth of Arrakis, the first private internet access provider in Spain, whose acquisition by British Telecom marked a milestone in the history of the sector. After the transaction, he joined BT Global Services, where he took on responsibility for leading the team in charge of ISP merger and acquisition processes during the group’s expansion, with a focus on the identification, evaluation and acquisition of high-growth technology companies in Europe. During his time at Orienta, he carried out strategic and commercial consulting work for consumer and sports brands, including projects linked to Formula 1 and Real Madrid in Asia. In addition, he has collaborated in the development of strategies for companies in the telecommunications, distribution and fashion sectors, maintaining direct relationships with operators such as Telefónica, BT and France Telecom. He has been a strategic advisor at independent consultancies and has been involved in regulatory and institutional development processes in the ICT sector, such as his participation in the creation of the Telecommunications Act together with the Telecommunications Market Commission. He currently chairs the Innovation, Technology and Talent Commission of the Confederation of Employers of Seville, and is an active member of CEOE’s digitalisation and knowledge society commissions.
