Antonio Carmona

University professor with over 35 years of experience in teaching and research. He holds a PhD in Economics with Extraordinary Distinction, specializing in European Union Economics and Advanced Macroeconomics. He is the author of Economics and Innovation (University of California, Berkeley) and co-author of a work on Johan Willem Beyen, a key figure in European integration. He has taught at Complutense University of Madrid and the University of California, Berkeley, and currently lectures at San Pablo CEU University, the Open University of Madrid, and the Beijing University of International Business and Economics. A recognized expert in China–Europe relations, he serves as President of the China-Spain Friendship Association. He has held senior executive roles, including Vice President of Iberdrola Spain and Global Corporate Managing Director of Iberdrola SA. He is currently Executive Chairman of Advanced Microsystems Quantum Singularity Co. and a board member of Air China Spain, as well as a partner or advisor to several multinational companies in Europe, the Middle East, and China. He is a member of the Board of Directors of CEOE and has participated in key European institutional processes, including the 1992 Intergovernmental Conference of the European Commission. He is also a frequent speaker, media commentator, and columnist. In addition, he served as a pilot and officer in the Spanish Air and Space Force, receiving distinctions such as the Aeronautical Merit Award and the NATO Serge Lazareff Grand Cross. He has also been active in public life as a candidate for mayor of Madrid, regional deputy, and city councillor. He currently presides over the Social Democratic Foundation and the Spanish Association for Singularity.
