Adolfo Borrero is CEO of Aalto Consultores, a firm specializing in strategic consulting for the planning and development of smart cities and territories, with a particular focus on Smart Tourism Destinations, Smart Energy, and the Blue Economy. He has been president of the Smart Cities Commission of AMETIC since its creation in 2012 and is a member of its executive committee.
He has over 40 years of experience in the ICT sector, notably his more than 26 years at TELVENT, where he held various management positions with international reach, including the company's NASDAQ IPO. His experience spans sectors such as defense, energy, mobility, the environment, eHealth, e-government, and, especially, Smart Cities for the last 15 years.
He was the founder and advisor of BOLT Accelerator, the first technology startup accelerator in Andalusia, and acts as a Business Angel in several technology startups. He is also the founder of Andalusia's first Energy Services Company, Cactus Servicios Energéticos, now part of the VEOLIA group, and a partner at Venture Studio Sevilla (VESS), where he coordinates the creation of Smart City startups.
He has chaired the Andalusian Digital Economy Cluster (ETICOM) and has spearheaded numerous key initiatives in innovation and technology. He is the creator and organizer of leading forums and conferences such as Greencities, Transfiere, TIS (Tourism Innovation Summit), and iBlue (Smart Blue Islands Summit), and is a regular speaker at top-tier national and international events.
He currently applies his extensive experience at AALTO Consultores, supporting public administrations and organizations in defining smart strategies, developing Smart projects, and accessing European funding, specializing in the digitalization of the energy and tourism sectors.
